Study says pizza, soft drinks have negative impact on sperm cells

Bad eating habits have a negative impact on men’s reproductive health. Based on a study conducted by scientists at the Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health, the quality of sperm cells of young men who eat pizza and chips can sharply decrease.

The study of about 3,000 men between the ages of 18 and 20 showed that the quality of sperm cells in men who eat processed meat and pizza and drink soft drinks is lower compared to the quality of the sperm cells of those who don’t.

The largest quantity of sperm cells was found in those men who eat fish, poultry, vegetables, fruits and drink water.

Interpreting the data, Alan Pacey from the University of Sheffield stated that eating pizza, chips and red meat leads to the development of oxidative stress, which has a negative impact on sperm.
