The first vaccine against the Chinese coronavirus, called COVID-19, may be ready only in 18 months, said WHO Head Tedros Adan Ghebreyesus in Geneva.

According to him, it is necessary to use all available resources now and take measures to prevent the spread of the COVID-19.

“We have to do everything today using available weapons,” The Guardian reported quoting him. The rising number of diagnoses in patients who had never visited China could be the “tip of the iceberg”, he added.

An outbreak of coronavirus was first recorded in the Chinese city of Wuhan at the end of December 2019.

Coronavirus cases were detected in 28 countries globally. WHO recognized an outbreak of coronavirus as an emergency of international concern. According to the latest data, the new coronavirus has already killed 1,115 patients.
