People who systematically sleep with the TV or another artificial light on are more likely to become 'victims' of obesity, scientists from the US noted.
They studied the data of 45 thousand people from 35 to 75 years old, Planet-today reported.
Data analysis showed that the risk of obesity is growing by about 20% when people without chronic cardiovascular pathologies sleep with the TV or another artificial light on. The risk of developing concomitant diseases increases as well.
This issue is especially relevant for women, the study authors, employees of the National Institutes of Health added.
To have healthy sleep, it is necessary to carefully monitor light pollution in the bedroom, as well as adhere to general recommendations.
